Every track gets an authoritative 12-character International Standard Recording Code the moment it's uploaded — the same identifier the major labels use. We're an approved ISRC registrant ($300 fees paid, application cleared by Aaron Stransky), with source-of-truth tracking (platform · creator · distributor) to prevent accidental duplicate assignment. DistroKid / CD Baby parity for individual issuance — already operational. ISRC Manager wholesale tier filed and pending.
Every track is fingerprinted twice on upload — compressed Chromaprint string + raw 32-bit-integer-array — and stored together. Audio sample matching, similarity search, DMCA defense, re-upload detection. Powered by a dedicated fingerprint-worker on BullMQ + Redis. We can detect a near-match even when the file metadata changes.
The cryptographic receipt that proves who made what and when. Per-track certificate: hash(fingerprint + creator + timestamp). Stored on upload, queryable forever. Immutable, cite-able — the thing AI agents and sync customers cite when they need proof of provenance. The thing the registry actually issues.
Songs aren't flat files. The database splits compositions (creative works — lyrics, idea, melody) from tracks (renditions). A remix is a new track of the same composition, linked via parentTrackId. This is how publishing rights actually work — and it's a thing flat track-only platforms can't bolt on without a schema migration.
